These will be filled at multiple levels including Senior, Advanced, or Clinical based on the qualifications listed below in the Minimum Requirements section as well as facility needs.
These positions will work 8:

Position Summary As a Social Worker at WMHI, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Assessing patient needs and making recommendations for treatment.
Monitoring and coordinating patient legal status.
Participating in the development and provision of both individual and group treatment programming.
Developing and coordinating discharge planning for patients.
Functioning as the liaison with the patient, the patient's family, community agencies, and the treatment team.
Participating in assessing and improving clinical practice and other quality initiatives.
Training social work students and assisting in orienting and training new social work staff.
The Social Worker Advanced and Clinical levels include the following duties, in addition to the duties listed above:
The Advanced Practice Social Worker may engage in psychotherapeutic activities and provide services with the direct clinical supervision for the diagnoses, treatment, and prevention of mental and emotional disorders in individuals, families, and groups to restore, maintain, and enhance social functioning.
The Clinical Social Worker may engage in psychotherapeutic activities and provide services without direct clinical supervision for the diagnoses, treatment, and prevention of mental and emotional disorders in individuals, families, and groups to restore, maintain, and enhance social functioning.
Salary Information The starting salaries for each level are as follows:
Senior - between $30.
47 and $33.
83 (approximately between $63,400 and $70,400 per year) Advanced - between $34.
47 and $36.
26 (approximately between $71,700 and $75,400 per year) Clinical - between $36.
80 and $38.
69 (approximately between $76,500 and $80,500 per year) The starting salary for all levels depends on original social worker licensure date and includes excellent benefits.
A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction.
These positions are classified as Social Worker Senior, Advanced or Clinical, depending on qualifications, and are in pay schedule and range 12/63.
Job Details All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
A TB screen will be required prior to start.
Employees are required to provide documentation of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by their start date.
Exceptions will be granted to those who obtain an approved medical or religious accommodation or those who provide documentation requiring a delay in receiving the vaccine.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
Certification or eligible for certification as a Social Worker, Advanced Practice Social worker, or a Clinical Social Worker in the State of Wisconsin.
Eligible is defined as:
you currently hold certification in another state and are eligible to obtain licensure in Wisconsin.
Must obtain licensure within 6 months of the start date.
Experience working with adults and/or children with mental illness, developmental or intellectual disabilities, substance use disorders or a related population.
Experience with case management services such as treatment planning, counseling, discharge planning, and scheduling post discharge follow up.
Experience providing individual and/or group treatment.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
Experience working in an inpatient, outpatient, or residential mental health setting.
Experience working with patients in behavioral health crisis.
Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience/training with Wisconsin State Statue Chapter 51 and the process involved in civil commitment.
